Mental Skills Training
Mental skills training can help improve performance. Individuals that have a strong mental attitude succeed on the field, on the stage, in the classroom or in the boardroom. In order for this type of training to be successful all you need is a willingness to work for it and an open mind. You do not need to have multiple medals, awards, or recognitions to be considered an athlete. In some way we are all performers and athletes competing for something, whether it be competing with individuals all across the world or just competing with ourselves.
By developing and strengthening mental skills you can learn to enhance your performance, especially when under pressure. By incorporating a mental skills training program into your practice plan you can enjoy your performance experience more than ever before. I believe this type of training works best on a partnership level, working together to help develop you to be the athlete, performer, or individual that you have been envisioning.
The same mental skills that you will use to achieve success in sport can also be used to achieve success in other areas of your life.
How Mental Skills Training Works
We begin with a thorough assessment of your current level of proficiency in each of the skill areas. Then, we develop an individualized plan for teaching and enhancing the skills that are needed. Periodically we will reassess your skills proficiency to evaluate your progress. There are nine mental skills of successful athletes that are necessary for performing well in sport and other performance based endeavors.
